It's definitely time for a clear out

WHEN I was away I promised myself a bit of a clear out when I got home. I don't know about you but I'm surrounded by too much stuff but when I think of having a mass throw out it fills me with dread.

Shoes Hols.jpg

WELL I'm back from my holidays, suitably tanned and already I feel like I need another holiday.

I went to a mainland Greek resort called Hanioti in Halkidiki and very nice it was too. And yes, in case your wondering, I did buy shoes - two pairs in fact.

Very Embarrassing

One trip and I'm doing a Linford Christie.

THERE'S nothing better than donning a nice pair of shoes in my book.
Just wearing them gives me an air of confidence I don't have in my bare feet.
Mind you I am only 5ft 2½ (the half an inch is very important as it makes me the tallest of three sisters!) so I tend to disappear when my heels are removed.

One Of My Favourite Shops

Church Street, Liverpool.jpg

Church Street, Liverpool, is one of the city's main shopping areas.

IF YOU'VE been keeping up with this blog, you'll be well aware that I have an obsession with shoes. It started some time ago and I doubt I'll ever change.

No Hill's Too High For My Heels!

Llangollen Balloon Festival.jpg

The Llangollen Balloon Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday August 30-31.

The impressive ruins of Castell Dinas Bran command spectacular views of Llangollen.

I WOULDN'T say I was an outdoor type but I do enjoy walking when the weather is nice.

In this country it's a bit hit and miss, but I remember being blessed with some rather fine weather while on a short break in Llangollen some years ago.

I'm Not Alone

The Tutankhamun exhibition at the O2 in London finishes on Saturday, August 30.

Terracotta Army.jpg

The Terracotta Army exhibition at the British Museum has now finished but you can always take a trip to China to see the real thing now the Olympics are almost over.

London Eye.jpg

The London Eye is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.

EARLIER this year I went on a four-day trip to London with my family. I haven't been since I was 15 years old so as my son is now that age it seemed an appropriate time to go.

We had booked the Tutankhamun exhibition at the O2 and also the Terracotta Army at The British Museum but these weren't the only trips on the itinerary.

In fact it was a bit of a whistle-stop tour which wouldn't have been complete without a spot at a London shoe shop.

I'M off on my summer holiday soon and so I've got to start thinking what shoes to take.
Obviously, I can't take too many as there's no room in the suitcases, but one pair would never be enough for me.

A pair of white sling-back heels similar to the one's I spotted.

I DON'T know what it is but whenever I go out to the shops people start talking to me.
It doesn't even matter what type of shop it is - supermarket, clothes shop, grocer's - customers always talk to me.

The Same But Different

ON the whole my shoe collection is very varied. It's fair to say I'm a high heel girl at heart but I do possess some flat shoes and even some of those toe thong types although these always seem to give me blisters!. But I confess the majority are heeled court, open-toe court and sling-backs.

I've Just Got To Have Them

Have you ever bought a pair of shoes which you just know are going to be totally impractical?
Well I have and not just one pair either. I have an amazing ability to forget how painful a pair of shoes can be and so it's not surprising that I have more than one pair of 'please don't make me walk' shoes.
There was an interesting article in The Independent this week about the latest killer heels fad which I refer to at the end of this entry.
